Share threat information and system status data with provincial traffic departments, as well as pubilic safety agencies, based on surveillance and monitoring of the bridge or tunnel assets.
Canadian Border Services AgencyImplement disaster response and emergency evacuation plans.
Coordinate emergency response with other public safety agencies along the border - both US and Canadian.
Coordinate resource sharing with emergency management agencies during disaster response, recovery and evacuation situations.
Emergency Measures OntarioDuring evacuation scenarios coordinate with the local governments and Ministry of Transportation for use of maintenance or construction resources.
During evacuation scenarios coordinate use of the traffic control systems with regional transportation authorities, Ministry of Transportation, and municipal traffic managers.
The Provincial Emergency Preparedness Centre (PEPC) coordinates the distribution of alert notifications with other public safety agencies and with the Ministry of Transportation. These alerts may describe child abductions, severe weather events, civil emergencies, and other situations that pose a threat to life and property. The alert includes information and instructions for transportation system operators and the travelling public, improving public safety and enlisting the public's help in some scenarios.
International Bridge or Tunnel Operations AgencyShare threat information with pubilic safety agencies on either side of the borders at the federal, state/provincial and local levels.
